5 drug peddlers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Mar 23: Continuing offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances, Udhampur police arrested five drug peddlers and seized 7.5 grams of Heroin from their possession.
A Police party of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Chanchal Singh SHO, while patrolling at Industrial Estate, Dhar Road Udhampur, intercepted one Alto car JK11A-9111. During search, 5.5 grams of Heroin and a silver paper were recovered from possession of the car driver, identified as Bupeshwar Jamwal alias Bhopi Raja, son of Sudershan Singh of Udhampur.
On his further disclosure, four more persons, namely Parvinder Singh alias Pamu of Talpad Udhampur, Rajesh Sharma alias Billa of Sailan Talab Udhampur, Vikas Thakur alias Vickey of Omara Morh and Arun Kumar of Omara Morh Udhampur were also arrested from the circular road, Udhampur. They were regularly procuring Heroin from Bhupeshwar Jamwal.
During the search of these four accused persons, two grams of more Heroin like substance was recovered from them.
In this connection, a case FIR number 109/2021 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
