5 drug peddlers arrested with cannabis, heroin

JAMMU, Apr 23: Miran Sahib and Gool Police arrested five drug peddlers and recovered cannabis and heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, a team from Miran Sahib Police Station led by SHO SI Gurpal Singh laid a naka near Indira Nagar and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AS-6472.
During checking, police team recovered 100 grams of heroin and Rs 2,76,000 cash and arrested four persons traveling in the vehicle.
The arrested persons have been identified as Wahid Ahmed, son of Amaan Ullah Khan of Boniyaar, District Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom, son of Ghulam Rasool of Trikjan District Baramulla, Nasir Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahad of Laari Boniyaar, District Baramulla and Charan Singh, son of Tez Ram of Nanak Nagar, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 52/19 under section 8/21/22/25/ 27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Gool Police Station led by SDPO Gool Mohammad Rafi Giri and accompanied by SHO Gool Inspector Niaz-ul-Hassan laid a naka at Gagarsulla and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 191 grams of cannabis from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal, son of Mohammad Ubaid Shah, a resident of Gagarsulla, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 25/19 has been registered at Police Station Gool and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
