5 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, ganja

JAMMU, Mar 7: Panjtirthi, Akhnoor, Pouni Chak and Belicharana Police arrested five drug peddlers and recovered heroin and ganja from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Chowk Chabutra laid a naka and intercepted a man, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 9 grams of heroin from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Yasir Ali, son of Abdul Talif, a resident of Palper Ragoora District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 28/2022 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Chowk Chabutra PSI Jyoti Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Raghubir Singh, SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Kulbir Handa.
Meanwhile, on reliable information a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar laid a naka and intercepted a man, who was hiding himself from the cops.
During checking, police team recovered 2.700 kilograms ganja from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Sachin Kumar, a resident of Chattisgarh, at present Kot Ghari District District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 47/2022 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
However, a team from Police Post Pouni Chak led by PSI Nitish Khajuria under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SDPO Domana Sunil Singh and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma laid a naka and apprehended a drug peddler along with 1.250 kilograms ganja.
The arrested person was identified as Raj Kumar, son of Lalit Kumar of Chattisgarh, at present Gho Manhasa District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 80/2022 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation initiated.
In another similar case, a team from Police Post Belicharana led by PSI Jeevan Kumar under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Sameer Jeelani and SDPO South Sachit Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AU-4203.
During checking, police team recovered 50 grams heroin and arrested two persons, who were identified as Narvir Singh, son of Jagjeet Singh and Amarjeet Singh, son of Sohan Singh, both residents of Belicharana District Jammu.
Belicharana Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
