5 drug smugglers booked under NDPS Act

Srinagar, Oct 20: Police today booked five notorious drug smugglers under the PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and Bandipora districts.
According to authorities, the peddlers have been lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal, Jammu, after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
In Baramulla, the police said that the three most wanted and notorious drug smugglers, namely Musadiq Afzal Masoodi, also known as Vicky, son of Mohd Afzal of Pampore, Pulwama; Mohd Shafi Hajam, son of Nazir Ahmad of Wanigam Bala; and Ghulam Hassan Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool of Trikanjan Boniyar, have been booked under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Police stated, “Many cases are registered against these drug smugglers, and they were involved in promoting the drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth in Baramulla, Uri, Pattan, Boniyar, and other areas of District Baramulla.”
In Bandipora, as per the police, two notorious drug smugglers, namely Mehraj-Udin Bhat, son of Mohmad Maqbool Bhat, resident of Plan, Bandipora, and Ather Altaf Lone, son of Mohmad Altaf Lone, resident of Nowpora, Bandipora, have been booked under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
