LEH, Apr 17: Keeping in view the prevailing situation due to COVID-19 and the prohibitory orders of the District Magistrate in place, 5 cases were registered in Police Station Leh for defying the prohibitory orders.
A case under FIR Number 64/2020 under Section 188 IPC and 51 DM Act has been registered for gathering of more than 20 person and not maintaining social distancing during a funeral at Housing Colony Leh, while a case under FIR Number 68/2020 under Section 188 IPC and 51 DM Act has been registered for public gathering and not maintaining social distancing during distribution of fertilizers and pea seeds at community hall lower Tukcha.
Moreover, a case under FIR Number 65/2020 and 66/2020 under Section 188 IPC and 51 DM Act have been registered for plying of vehicles without valid permits and a case under FIR Number 67/2020 under Section 188IPC and 51DM Act has been registered for opening of non-essential commodities shop at Skalzangling.
Action under section 51 DM Act has also been taken against two persons for not wearing face mask.
