JAMMU, Dec 5: Gandhi Nagar Police today arrested five gamblers and recovered Rs 4500 as stake money from their possession.
Police spokesman said that on the basis of specific information, a police party from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajinder Sharma conducted a raid in Nai Basti Park and arrested five gamblers. From their possession, police recovered Rs 4500 as stake money.
The gamblers have been identified as Ravi, son of Kewal Krishan, Sukh Bahadur, son of Chander Vir, Prem Bahadur, son of Inder Vir, Gulab Chand, son of Bishan Dass, all the residents of Nai Basti and Raka Kumar, son of Mohan Lal of Raipur Satwari.
They have been booked under 13 Gambling Act.
