JAMMU, Feb 6: Five gamblers were arrested with stake money of Rs 85000 from Talab Tillo area here today, police said.
During patrolling at Puran Nagar Chowk, Talab Tillo Chowk, Jammu, five people were rounded up, who were playing cards, they said, adding, Rs 85000 stake money was also recovered from their possession.
The accused identified as Gurdas of Shakti Nagar, Jammu; Rajeev Sharma of Paloura, Vishal Sharma of Rajpura, Mahinder Kalsi of Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu; and Vishal Sharma of Puran Nagar, Jammu, were later booked under section 13 of the Gambling Act registered at Police Station Nowabad and further investigation taken up.
