SRINAGAR, July 16: Acting tough against the persons involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police today arrested 5 persons and seized 5 vehicles in Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg seized 5 vehicles (4 tippers, and 1 tractor) and arrested 5 drivers for their involvement in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Kulhama-Shrai.
“They have been identified as Firdous Ahmad Magray son of Gh Rasool resident of Chandil Wanigam, Mohd Shafi Ganie son of Gh Rasool resident of Reram, Ajaz Ahmad Dar son of Ab Gaffar resident of Mahayan, Gh Rasool Malik son of Gh Mohd resident of Pariswani & Bashir Ahmad Pala son of Mohd Sultan resident of Kulhama,” police said.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and an investigation has been taken up.
