POONCH, Aug 3: Five persons were injured when two Tata Sumo vehicles met head-on collision in Krishna Ghati area of district Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that vehicles bearing registration numbers JK-12/3964 and JK-12/4841 which were coming from opposite directions, met head on collision at a sharp curve near Kwarian village in KG sector today. Five persons including drivers were injured in the accident. Both the drivers, despite injuries, escaped from the spot. Passengers alleged that they were drunk.
The police shifted three injured passengers to Poonch hospital and started search for the drivers. They also seized both the vehicles. A case has been registered in this connection. Three injured admitted to Poonch hospital were identified as Mohd Khalil from Mendhar, Ghulam Mohd from Bedar Mandi and Rifqat Hussain, son of Barkat Hussain from Uchhad.
