JAMMU, Jan 2: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has ordered the promotion of five Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers from the erstwhile J&K cadre, who are currently posted in the AGMUT cadre.
As per an order, four IAS officers- Asad Aijaz, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Piyush Singla, and Amit Sharma-have been promoted to the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix) with effect from January 1, 2025 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is earlier, while as one IAS officer, Ravinder Kumar has been granted the proforma promotion to the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix) with effect from January 1, 2025 and on the actual basis with effect from the date of assumption of charge of his immediate junior in the cadre.

As per details available with the Excelsior, Assad Aijaz is currently holding the post of Administrative Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Jammu and Kashmir, with additional charge of the post of Administrative Secretary, Civil Aviation Department & Civil Aviation, Commissioner, Public Grievances & CEO, JK ERA while as Syed Abid Rasheed Shah is Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
While Ravinder Kumar is Deputy Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Delhi, Piyush Singla, the former Secretary School Education Department, is on a study leave, and Amit Sharma is posted as Special Secretary in Mizoram Government.
