JAMMU, Aug 3: Five persons received injuries after being attacked by sharp edged weapons by their rival group members including PDP leader over some land dispute in Pargwal area of tehsil Akhnoor.
As per police sources, five persons including Bachan Lal, son of Major Ram and Rakesh Kumar, son of Bachan Lal, both residents of Nai Basti Pargwal were attacked with sharp edged weapons by five persons, including PDP leader. During the incident, PSO of PDP leader opened fire in the air with his service weapon.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and arrested all the five persons including PDP leader.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rajinder Singh Manhas (PDP leader) of Patta Bohri, SgCt Ram Parshad (PSO of PDP leader), Mukesh, son of Tarseem of Mandal Phalian, Bablu Kumar, son of Darshan Lal of Mandal Phalian and Ashwani Kumar, Tara Chand, driver of PDP leader.
The five injured persons were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where their condition was stated to be out of danger, when reports last came in.
A case in this regard has been registered and investigation started.
