5 killed, 2 injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Five persons were killed and two others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesperson said a Beat car JK01S 7515 hit and injured a pedestrian Jana Begum wife of Mohammad Akram Ganie of Palpora at Palpora Kunzar. The injured woman succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital. Police has registered a case in this regard
A Tractor met with an accident at Chutru, in Budgam district. The critically injured driver succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital. Budgam Police has registered a case in this regard.
In a similar accident, a Dumper JK03D 3713 met with an accident near Sadna-Top near Kralpora, Kupwara, resulting in on spot death of the driver of the vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Magray of Sadoora, Qazigund-Anantnag. A case has been registered in this regard.
In another accident, an unknown vehicle hit and injured Mohammad Sarwar Rather of Chethy Bandy, Bandipora at Pinchi Mandi, Safakadal area of Srinagar. The injured succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS, Soura. A case has been registered in this regard.
In another accident, a Tata 709 vehicle JK09 0827 hit and injured Abdul Rashid Sheikh son of Dilawar Sheikh resident of Firdous Abad near Fruit Mandi gate Parimpora Srinagar. The injured was shifted to JVC, Srinagar for treatment. Parimpora Police has registered a case in this regard.
In another accident, an unknown vehicle hit and injured Rouf Ahmad Kaloo resident of Band, Parimpora on NHW Parimpora. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Parimpora Police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, a youth succumbed to his injuries in SKIMS hospital early this morning after being treated for a week there. Identified as Irfan Yasin Kaloo, son of Mohammad Yasin Kaloo of Umar Market, Sopore was hit by a speedy truck near Chankhan, Sopore on October 9 when he was walking on the roadside. Kaloo was left badly injured and was shifted to SKIMS hospital in critical condition for treatment, where he was put on ventilator for a week. His family members said that he was working as Computer Operator in Deputy Commissioner’s office in Baramulla.
