2 non-local labourers shot at

Srinagar, Apr 3: Police today busted two militant modules in North Kashmir and arrested five associates of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) who were providing logistic support to militants operating in the area while militants shot at two non-local labourers in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police spokesman said that militant associates identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat of Ashtango, Sajad Ahmad Mir, Shariq Ahmad Mir, both from Arin and Irfan Ahmad Jan of Qazipora Bandipora were arrested by the security forces today.
Police said that they were providing SIM cards and other logistic support to militants operating in the area. Two Chinese grenades were recovered from their possession.
In another operation during a naka at Rakh Hajin area of Bandipora district, security forces arrested one militant associate Irfan Aziz Bhat of Hajin and recovered one Chinese grenade from his possession.
The militant associate, he said, was also in touch with Pakistan based militant Umer Lala and killed militant Saleem Parray of Hajin.
“The militant associate along with his Pakistan based militant were planning to create militant incident in Hajin area,” the spokesperson said.
“In both the cases, cognizance has been taken in Police Station Bandipora and Hajin under relevant Section of Law and further investigation taken up,” police said.
In the meantime, two labourers were injured in a militant attack in Nowpora Litter area of Pulwama district this evening.
An official said that militants fired upon two labourers identified as Dheeraj Dutt son of Susheil Dutt and Surinder Singh son of Bishan Singh, both residents of Pathankot Punjab, at Nowpora Litter area of Pulwama.
Both the labourers received gunshot injuries who were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment.
Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant Sections of law. Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime.
The area has been cordoned and search in the area is going on.
