5 Maharashtrians among 8 detained

Srinagar, Nov 26: Police have detained eight persons including five from Maharashtra after army caught them taking pictures of an Army convoy in Pattan area of North Kashmir today.
SSP, Baramulla, Zubair Ahmad said that five of them are from Amravati in Maharashtra and had come to Kashmir with local students who are studying in a BPEd college at Amravati.
Zubair said that these men were taking pictures of the market in Pattan town and at that time a convoy was passing through the town. Army personnel caught them for taking pictures and later handed over them to police.
“We are investigating their credentials but the locals said that they had come to Pattan area three days ago for a trip to Kashmir and were staying with their friends”, said the SSP.
The detained persons have been identified included Abrar Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Khan, Mohammed Imran Khan, Suhail Ahmed Khan, residents of  Dohra Masjid Amravati, Wasim Raja of Handwara and driver of the vehicle JK05D-4539 Gulam Hasan Khan.
