SUNDERBANI, May 27: A 5-years-old girl student, was crushed to death under a school bus in Sunderbani area of district Rajouri this morning.
The deceased was identified as Manvi, daughter of Mohinder Singh, resident of Joginala village in Sunderbani. She was studying in class Ist in Govt Middle School, Banpuri.
In the morning, she let for her school from home. On the way, a private school bus No. JK11B/7403 of BP Playway World School, Sunderbani was going to school side with speed and hit with Manvi when she was crossing road. She was crushed to death on the spot. The driver stopped the vehicle and escaped from the spot.
Police party from Sunderbani Thana rushed to the spot and seized the bus. The dead body of the child was removed to SDH Sunderbani. The police registered a case in this connection. After performing legal formalities the dead body of Manvi was handed over to the family. The locals alleged that there are no conductors/ helpers deployed with the buses here and speed governors have also not fitted in the vehicles. The Traffic police and Regional Transport authorities must take the cognizance.
