5 yrs RI awarded to Pak ISI agent

JAMMU, Dec 31: Principal Sessions Judge Rajouri Rajeev Gupta today awarded five years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 50,000 to Abdul Qayoom of Nowshera, an agent of Pakistan’s ISI.

According to the police case, on 28.11.2014, Major Adjutant for Commanding Officer, Jhangar Rashtriya Rifles Battalion lodged a written report with the SHO Police Station Nowshera alleging therein that on 27.11.2014, an unidentified terrorist, who had crossed over the Line of Control, was apprehended near the fence along with arms and ammunition.
On this written report, a case FIR No.183/2014 for offences under 7/25 Arms Act, 2/3 E&IMCO and 121/122 RPC was registered at Police Station Nowshera.
After hearing PP Shaheen Ahmed Khan for the UT whereas Advocate Ajaz Ahmed Zaki for the accused, the court awarded five years rigorous imprisonment for offence under 7/25(1A) of the Arms Act and one year imprisonment under 2/3 E&IMCO.
