JAMMU, Nov 21: About 50 farmers and two officers of the Agriculture Department from Jammu are participating in four day long “CII Agro Tech 2014 –India’s Premier Biennial Agro Technology and Business Fair’’ being organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Chandigarh.
The CII Agro Tech will start from tomorrow and it will culminate on November 25. The tour has been organized under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) and it was flagged off by Director Agriculture Jammu Dr S S Jamwal from Krishi Bhawan today.
While interacting with the farmers Director Agriculture Jammu emphasized that the Agro Tech will future display of best products and techniques in agriculture and would provide an opportunity for the participating farmers to learn about the latest technological achievements and best practices in the field of agriculture.
He advised them to make best use of the visit. He impressed upon the farmers to interact with the experts and participating farmers of other states in the Agro Tech Fair and to equip themselves with sufficient information and knowledge to be adopted at their fields and share the same with other farmers of the area.
Meanwhile Mr Jamwal inaugurated a one day workshop cum training for the KVK Project Directors and computer programmers on revised Electronic Monitoring System (REMS) for Centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by Agriculture and Allied departments in the State.
