MENDHAR, Aug 21: Nearly fifty (50) kanal Forest land was retrieved by the Forest department in Mandher Range of Poonch Forest Division today.
Official sources said that on the directions of DFO Poonch, Dr Sayed Nadeem Shah, the Forest department team led by RO Mendhar MB Malik assisted by Forester AA Khan organised operation in compartment No. 166 , near Ari village in Mendhar and cleared about 50 kanal of land encroached upon by about half a dozen families.
While one family had already raised a structure there, the others were in the process of raising structures and fencing there. The Forest team cleared the entire grabbed area and also smashed the structure. The Forest Department has also booked these persons for the offence.
