500 bikers booked in Udhampur

Udhampur, Nov 5: On the directions of Range Police Headquarters Udhampur, an initiative was taken fews days by Udhampur Police against two wheelers (bikes) which are using aftermarket modified silencers and plying on road without helmets.
After the lockdown relaxation , movement of bikes in the town increased and most of them were openly violating the COVID protocol and Traffic rules.
Cops carried out a crackdown on the traffic rule violators whose thumping sound bikes are not only creating noise pollution but also a big safety hazard, DIG Udhampur-Reasi range Sujit Kumar said.
“Till now more than 500 bikers have been booked ,counselled and challaned. Public is deeply bieng requested especially youth to use good quality helmets while driving and avoid noise creating silencers in the motorcycles,” Kumar said.
