Srinagar, May 10: Over 500 children today took part in the “Run for Laughter” as part of promotional activity for upcoming film “Welcome To Karachi” at Cheshmashahi.
The film is the first of its kind whose promotional activity started from Kashmir and is to be released on May 21.
The major attraction for the function was Jackky Bhagnani, Bollywood star who has various films to his credit, Lauren Gottlieb American model who has performed with Hollywood celebrities like Rihanna, Britney Spears, Enrique and Tom Cruise, renowned Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani.
CEO SPACE Communications Dr. Amit Wanchoo, Joint Director Tourism Tasaduq Hussain and Chairman New Bonvivant School Nazir Ahmad Wani also took part in the event. Around 500 students and 50 staff members from various schools participated.
In his interaction with kids, Jackky said: “Our idea to promote the film in Kashmir is to have a bonding with Kashmiris. They are lovely people, hospitable and the real paradise of Kashmir is Kashmiris.”
Actor and actress were busy giving autographs, taking selfies, posing with kids and having fun throughout the program. Lauren while interacting with media commented that being with Kashmiri children today morning has been an amazing experience and Kashmir has taken her heart. She further added that she will promote Kashmir in Bollywood and Hollywood and ask all her friends to visit Kashmir.
Stars had lot of praise for Bhand Paether folk performance by Bhagat group from Akingam. They joined artists while they were performing. The film crew were impressed with a unique format of Kashmiri culture and were surprised why this art has not been portrayed in Bollywood film.
Dr. Amit Wanchoo said: “We are lucky that ‘Welcome to Karachi’ chose Kashmir for promoting their film before the release. These promotional events will add business to our place and give us better publicity. Jackky and Lauren are humans with real heart who have been so kind.”
Schools which participated in the event included New Bonvivant School, Koh -I-Marwah Public School, Children’s Welfare School, Children’s Paradise School, Shah-I-Hamdaan school. Run was flagged off in a unique style with a Clap from Cheshmashahi to Botanical Garden. Stars and crew of the film distributed note books among children and greeted them with smiles.
