500 needy children appear for HBET scholarship test

Students during scholarship test organised by Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust.

JAMMU, Feb 25: Written and online exams were held by Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) from February 10-25 for selection of students for scholarships.
The students of class 1 to 10 participated in these tests.
HBET also organised a drawing competition for children and prizes to the winners were distributed by chief guest, Vijay Jain, Director VKC Nuts Private Limited.
A handout stated that HBET and Roshan Educational Society have been giving scholarships since 1997 and the number of children getting these scholarships increased from 12 initially to 500 this year and more than 80 per cent beneficiary students are girl children from rural areas.
Aim of the Trust and Society is to cover as many rural children as possible around Jammu.
Due to the pandemic most students are being given online tuitions on regular basis by HBET team.
The children from financially weak family background and from class 1 to 3 may apply for scholarships.
