512 kanal forest land retrieved

KISHTWAR, Nov 4: The Forest Department officials during anti-encroachment operations in Kishtwar Forest Division, removed encroachment on 512 kanal forest land and booked many persons in this connection.
Official sources said that Forest teams led by Range Officer Kishtwar, under the supervision of  DFO, Sunil Singh conducted operations in compartment No. 33, 35, 36 and 37 of Kishtwar Range at Sudhla, Khuloru, Naki Sheroti, Chiryana, Nosar-Dulbhagi, Sukhpanag, Bhimalnag and Saroor villages and removed encroachment on nearly 512 kanal Forest land in last three days.
This area had been grabbed by 77 persons and some of them had also raised structures. Some were using this land for agriculture purpose. Plinths and Kothas  were also removed by the team. Now, some area is being established  as unit under CAMPA while rest is being fenced by Forest Department. Since April 2015, 791 kanals of Forest area has been cleared in Kishtwar Forest Division so far.
