5125th Geeta Jayanti celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Dec 13: The 5125th Geeta Jayanti was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety today.
In this connection functions were organized at various places in which the speakers threw light on the philosophy and religious significance of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta.
A grand function was held at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi Where a large number of devotees drawn from different parts of the city and its outskirts participated.
Swami Kumar Ji and other saints threw light on the philosophy of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta on the occasion.
He said Geeta Ji is eternal source of knowledge and one of the greatest spiritual books on earth which contains the conversation that transpired between Lord Krishna and despondent Arjuna just before Mahabarta war over 5000 years back in 3137 BC.
Speakers said a pocket edition of Ved & Vedic literature Bhagwat Geeta is an encyclopedia of life and anchor to ship of life sailing on turbulent waves. They said Geeta Ji glorifies every aspect of life and provides master key to open the all gates of human evolution.
The celebrations started on December 10 with a  Maha Yagya which concluded with Puran Ahuti and Prasad Vitran today. Daily Bhajan Kirtan, Satsang and religious discourses were the highlights of the function.
On the occasion a photo Exhibition on Ekadash Rudhra and Sri Amaranth Yatra was organized by Sanskritik Prathistan headed by Bindraban Sher and Hari Krishan Sidha for linking the younger generations to their roots and cultural heritage. All the devotees visited the photo exhibition also.
During the function KP leader and former president Nagbal Prabahndak Committee Anantnag Harji Lal Jad was felicitated for his services to the society. President Migrant Welfare Committee TRT First T N Koul was also felicitated by the Ashram for his services to the camp people.
Those participated included Didi Sudershana Devi of Bram Kumari Ashram, Swami Pran Nath Bhat Gareeb, Swami Chaman Lal Bamzi, Mata Nirmala Jee, Bimla Raina, Prof A N Dhar, H N Jatu, B L Bhat, Devi Anand Saraswati and Swami Ashtosh Ji.
Another grand function was held by J&K Gao Raksha Samiti at Ambphalla in which Mrs Lalita Sharma ex Corporator was the chief guest. Dr Chander Mouli Raina, Professor RSS Deemed University, Ranbir Campus, Kote Bhalwal was special guest on the occasion.
Dr S K Sharma president of the Samiti in his welcome address highlighted the significance of the day. On this auspicious day Lord Krishna sang the celestial song Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta in the battle field of Kurukshetra.
Prof Chander Mouli Raina threw light on the relevance of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta and its relevance in present times. She said all the political problems of the day could easily be solved by following the teachings of Bhagwat Geeta.
She said our leaders can solve the problems of the nation by following the Bhagwan Krishna’s precepts.
Dr S K Sharma proposed the vote of thanks. The function concluded with Aarti and Prashad Vitran.
