JAMMU, Aug 30: Lok Adalats were held in the District Court Complex Rajouri and Sub Judge Court Complex, Nowshera, in which a total of 52 cases were decided.
At Rajouri, Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex under the chairmanship of AK Sharma, Principal, District and Sessions Judge.
During the Lok Adalat, two benches were constituted. First bench comprised of AK Sharma, Principal, District and Sessions Judge and was assisted by Advocate Parvez Ahmed Khan. The second bench comprised of Mohd Ashraf Khan, Sub-Judge/ CJM Rajouri, Sheikh Parvez Iqbal, District Mobile Magistrate (T) Rajouri and Advocate KM Bhat as members.
A total of 35 MACT cases were taken up, out of which 30 cases were settled. 10 others civil, bank and petty criminal cases were taken up out of which 5 cases were settled.
At Nowshera, Lok Adalat was held at Sub Judge Court Complex, under the chairmanship of OP Thakur, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee and was assisted by Advocate Rattan Singh.
During the Lok Adalat, 25 cases were taken up, out of which 17 cases were settled.
