UP heading towards ‘jungle raj’ in BJP regime: Mayawati

LUCKNOW:  Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today accused the Yogi Adityanath government of failing to control crime and criminals and alleged that the state was on the verge of going towards jungle raj.

“The killing of five Brahmins in Rae Bareli shows that this BJP government has failed to deliver and the crime and the criminals are having a field day,” said Ms Mayawati, who held a meeting with her party legislators on the eve of the Budget session of the state legislature.

She directed the legislators to raise the issue in a big way in both the Houses tomorrow along with other matters related to law and order and connected to the people.

In a statement here, Ms  Mayawati said she has asked general secretary Satish Chandra Misra to meet the family members of the deceased killed in the Rae Bareli incident and do the needful.

The BSP president also raked up the issue of floods in the state and alleged that the Centre as well as the UP government has failed to provide any relief to the flood-affected people in eastern UP.  (AGENCIES)
