Srinagar : Three militants were killed in an overnight gun battle in a Budgam village of Central Kashmir.
Police and army cordoned off Radbugh village in Beerwah area of Budgam district last night after reports about presence of three militants hiding in the house of one Mohammad Ramzan Dar son of Abdul Salam Dar.
Sources said that the security forces had information about presence of Dawood of Shalteng, Aqib Goripora and Javed Sheikh of Churpora Budgam inside the house. As the security forces cordoned off the village, militants hiding inside opened fire on the troops leading to a gun battle which ended this morning.
All the three militants were killed. The operation has been called off.
