PM pitches for tough stand against corruption among politicians

NEW DELHI: Mounting pressure on protagonists of Bihar politics – Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav – the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged all political parties to join hands and fight corruption unitedly.

Addressing the all-party meeting here convened on the eve of monsoon session of Parliament, Mr Modi said everyone must ensure that with regard to probe and judicial process on corruption related cases – the law must be allowed to go to its “logical conclusion”.

Prime Minister said taking actions against corrupt politicians is – therefore – a must.  Mr Modi said, over the past few decades, the image of political class has taken a beating due to the deeds of some of the leaders, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar later said.

“The credibility of political class has come under question,” Prime Minister said. (AGENCIES)
