NEW DELHI, July 25: Chana prices went up by 0.60 per cent to Rs 5,030 per quintal in futures market today as traders built up fresh positions amid pick-up in demand at the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September month rose by Rs 30, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 5,030 per quintal with an open interest of 12,420 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in October contracts was trading higher by Rs 29, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 5,000 per quintal in 7,340 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices in futures trade to fresh positions created by speculators following uptick in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions. (PTI)
