SRINAGAR: Train services resumed after remaining suspended for four days for security reasons in south Kashmir while will chug in north Kashmir also on Srinagar-Baramulla track after two days.
All trains will run today in the Kashmir valley, a senior railway official said this morning.
He said the services resumed on Budgam-Srinagar in central Kashmir, Anantnag and Qazigund in south to Banihal in Jammu region after remaining suspended for four days for security reasons.
He said train services between Srinagar-Badgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in north Kashmir also resumed for remaining suspended for two days.
”We are acting on the advice of authorities and police,” he said, adding that ”we resumed the train service today after receiving green signal from them.”
During the past about two months, train services have been suspended frequently for security reasons in the valley, where train property had suffered damage due to demonstration.
Last year, train services remained suspended for about six months due to summer unrest in the Valley.
However, daily travelers are the most affected due to suspension of train service which is now being considered most trusted, cheap and fast. (AGENCIES)
