LONDON, Aug 26: Actor Steve Coogan has confirmed that his popular comedy creation, Alan Partridge is all set to return to the small screen next year.
The fictional character played by the 51-year-old actor will be back to the BBC for a new series apparently to be “the voice of hard Brexit”, reported RadioTimes.
“Well, because he has got a show on the BBC, we have a problem, because we have to explain why he’s a failure, but that he has a show. The logic of what he is doing has to make sense.
“It’s conceivable, because in this age of Brexit, they (the BBC) might think they need to get in touch with the ‘Little Englanders’ they ignore. Alan would have voted Brexit for sure. Hard Brexit, given the choice,” Coogan said. It will be “The Minions” actors first appearance on the network in 15 years.
The series is expected to air early next year. (PTI)
