NEW DELHI: The nation today paid glowing tributes to Bharat Ratna Govind Ballabh Pant on the occasion of his 130th birth anniversary. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani paid tribute to the late leader at a function here.
Union Minister Vijay Goel too was present. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the departed leader with their messages.
In his message, President said, “After Independence, Govind Ballabh Pant played a pivotal role in the government and dedicated his life for the uplift of common people”.
Prime Minister Modi in his message said, “Late Pant’s astute administration skills came to the fore while heading the United Provinces during 1930s and later as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh”.
“Pt Pant’s life was a mission in itself,” Mr Modi said. Vice President Mr Naidu described the late leader as a “towering personality of the freedom struggle”. (AGENCIES)
