55 bovines rescued, 4 accused nabbed

JAMMU, Jan 11: Jammu Police has rescued 55 bovine animals from three different locations of the district and arrested four smugglers.
A team of Police Station Nagrota rescued 23 bovine animals from a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BP-5228 while on naka duty at Ban Toll Plaza area. In this regard, a case FIR Number 12/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11PCA /50/52/54/56/Transport Act 1978 was registered at Police Station Nagrota and the driver of the vehicle identified as Mohd Abass son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Mithrian (Kalakot, Rajouri), arrested.
Similarly at another naka near Suketar by a team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, 27 bovines were rescued from a vehicle bearing registration number HR55-AE8937 and the driver and his accomplice namely Amardeep son of late Sanjeevdeep of Aassam and Mohd Shakeel son of Ab Gani of Miran Sahib (Jammu), were apprehended. In this regard, a case FIR Number 07/2023 u/s 188 IPC -11 PCA Act 50,52,54,56 Transport Act 1978 was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.
A team of Police Post Chowki Choura also rescued five bovine animals from two vehicles bearing registration numbers DL6CN-1818 and JK12A-3723 during naka checking. In this regard, cognizance was taken by Police Post Chowki Choura and the accused identified as Mohd Umar son of Mohd Yakoob, resident of Chandak Dingla (Poonch), nabbed.
Further investigation in all the three cases were going on.
