550 rural children receive scholarship from HBET

JAMMU, Dec 12: A total of 550 children of rural areas of Jammu Province received scholarships amounting to over Rs 4.32 lakh from Harbans Bhalla Educational trust (HBET) during the nine-day camp, which concluded today.
Among the children who received scholarships, 90% were girls and 85% were from schools of rural areas of Jammu Province like Arnia, Birpur, Kangrail, Chadwal, Chakrohi, Dansal, doomi, Gajansoo, Gura Slathia, Hira Nagar, Jourian, Jerda, Kanachak, RS Pura, Rattian, Rahein, Samba, Saruinsar and Satrayan.
Anil Bhalla, Director, Nitco Logistics Private limited, was the chief guest on the occasion while Sathi Nanda, Salil Bhalla, Sudhir Nanda and Rajan Nanda, all Nitco Directors, were the guests of honour.
Nitco has adopted several students and has been giving financial support to the Trust for many years.
HBET was established in 1997 with the mission to change lives of needy children through literacy support programs. The Trust supports children from weaker sections of the society with renewed passion to remove ignorance and darkness from their lives by providing the light of education.
