5500 km journey on foot against corruption

SRINAGAR, Aug 3: A Kashmiri man, who had made a foot journey of around 5500 kilometers since 2010 across the country to campaign against corruption and ensuring justice for all, returned here this afternoon.
Mohammad Altaf Bhat, a resident of Srinagar city, who had started foot journey two years back in a bid to campaign aimed at rooting out the corruption from the society and ensuring justice to all, ended his of journey in Lal Chowk.
Altaf had started his journey on September 24, 2010 and as part of his country wide campaign he visited different states of the country. During the journey, he met people and sought their support in ensuring justice to the masses and also raised his voice against corruption as well as corrupt practices going on in the country.
He also voiced his concern over the human rights violations in the country and demanded immediate end to the human rights abuses. On his return, Altaf displayed a flag at Lal Chowk. This attracted the attention of the people around and they too joined him in his campaign. During this period, Bhat covered a distance of 5,500 kilometres on foot.
