57 bovine rescued, seven accused nabbed

JAMMU, Apr 27: In a massive drive against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police rescued 57 bovine animals during naka checking at three different nakas, in the jurisdictions of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, Police Post Sidhra and Police Post Chinore.
“Also, seven different vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02H-9378, JK18B-2142, JK02BL-1737, JK15A-5104, JK02X-0949, JK02AC-6922 and JK02AJ-8775 have been seized,” a police spokesperson said.
He said in this regard two different cases vide FIR numbers 75/2022 and 76/2022 both U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act were registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and cognizance of the cases taken by Polcie Post Sidhra and Police Post Chinore.
“Seven accused identified as Raju son of Faqiru of Basht (Chenani, Udhampur), Mohd Saleem son of Abdul Rashid of Kanskasan Reasi, Showket Ali son of Mohd Ismail of Kanpur Nagrota, Showket Ali son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Nerlu Reasi, Abdul Roof son of Makhan of Mohalla Nala (Bhalwal, Jammu), Gulzaar Bibi wife of Farooq Ahmed and Shammema Bibi wife of Mohd Iqbal of Kot Bhalwal (Jammu) were also arrested,” the spokesperson added.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made by SHO Police Station Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh, Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Majid Hussain and Incharge Police Post Chinore PSI Amit Singh in their respective jurisdictions.
Further investigation of the cases was going on.
