Jadhav’s wife, mother meet Sushma after returning from Pakistan

NEW DELHI: Kulbhushan Jadhav’s family on Tuesday met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj here after returning from Islamabad where they on Monday met him under tight security of Pakistan Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Jadhav is facing a death row in Pakistan on charges of espionage and subversion which India has strongly rejected. Yesterday’s meeting of Jadhav’s mother Avanti and wife Chetankul came after months of wait though Islamabad had said that it allowed the meeting on “humanitarian ground” but the way whole thing unfolded met with strong disappointment in India.
The family were allowed to see him from only across a glass wall and they spoke him through intercom. India’s Deputy High Commissioner in Islamabad J P Singh who accompanied the two ladies to the meeting place was, however, not allowed to interact with Jadhav. (AGENCIES)
