59 bovine animals rescued, 7 smugglers arrested

REASI, June 12: Police today foiled several attempts of bovine smuggling and arrested seven smugglers besides rescuing 59 bovines.
Team of Police Station Mahore laid a surprise naka at Khatazi, Mahore area and intercepted one person namely Shamas Din, son of Ghulam Din of Lar Mahore, Tehsil Mahore, who was smuggling 30 bovines.
Police rescued all the bovine animals and arrested the accused. In this regards, a case FIR number 60/2023 U/S 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Mahore.
In another success, team of PP Thanole rescued 12 bovines at Jij Top from the clutches of bovine smuggler Mohd Latif, son of Suba, resident of Chakalsalta, Tehsil Thakrakote, Reasi. He was carrying the bovines by foot towards Srinagar without DM permission. In this regard, Police registered a case at P/S Arnas and arrested the accused.
While foiling another incident of bovines smuggling, Police team of SPP Chillad rescued nine animals at Lapri Top. Bovine smuggler Gulzar Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz of Hunder, Tehsil Arnas was carrying these bovines by foot towards Srinagar. In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Arnas.
PP Dera Baba rescued four bovines, which were being smuggled in Mahindra Load Carrier at Chappanoo. Police arrested driver Alaf Hussain son of Ghulam Hussain of Chapanoo, Reasi and co-driver Hem Raj son of Bhagat Ram of Chub Tehsil, Ramban.
Team of PP Dera Baba rescued four bovines at naka Chappanoo when accused Abdul Majid son of Ahmed Khan of Chapanoo and Jeevan Singh of anote were smuggling these animals a vehicle bearing registration number JKO2CG-9989. Both the accused were arrested.
