Srinagar, Feb 24: Police arrested six absconders who had been evading arrest for the last 34 years in Bandipora area.
A police spokesman said that the accused persons were wanted in multiple cases registered during 1990s and had managed to escape law enforcement for decades.
The spokesman said that a special police team from Police Station Bandipora apprehended the absconders, who were involved in various criminal cases, vide FIR No. 64/1990, 169/1990, 18/1994, 29/1991, 07/1990, and 26/1991.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Shafi Shah, a resident of Papchan; Mohammad Sadeeq Reshi, a resident of Buthoo; Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Bagh Bandipora; Ghulam Hassan Khan, a resident of Lawaypora; Fayaz Ahmad Mir, a resident of Ward 03 Bandipora; and Abdul Ahad Rather, a resident of Arin Bandipora.
