KISHTWAR, Mar 31: An FIR was registered against six persons for not depositing their licensed weapons ahead of the general elections.
District Magistrate Kishtwar had directed all the licensed weapon holders to deposit their weapons at concerned Police Station, a police official said. He said since the last date for deposition of such weapons has expired, consequently under the supervision of Deputy SP DAR Kishtwar Adil Rishu, Inspector Suraj Pathania of Police Station Chatroo lodged two FIRs viz FIR No No 7/2019 and 8/2019 u/s 188 RPC, 21/25 (h) Arms Act at police station Chatroo against six persons for not depositing their licensed weapons in concerned police station, thus violating the DM Kishtwar’s orders.
“The accused are Abdul Rehman son of Khalil Malik, resident of Zaidar, Mangat Ram son of Jia Ram, resident of Thalwal, Krishan Lal son of Rama, resident of Khawra and Ghulam Hussain son of Ali Rather, Nazir Ahmed son of Mohd Ramzan and Abdul Ganim son of Ali Naik, all residents of Kuchal,” the police official said, adding 7 arms recovered from them have been seized.
