UDHAMPUR, Apr 7: Police today foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued six animals besides arresting three smugglers.
Based on reliably information, a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Mahesh Sharma, laid a surprise naka near Domil Chenani on the National Highway and intercepted one TATA 207 vehicle bearing registration number JK02BD-5607. Four bovine animals rescued and driver of the vehicle, namely Shakil Ahmed of Qazigund Kashmir was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 34/16 under Section 188/RPC, 3 PCA has been registered in Police Station Chenani.
In a similar case, , a Police party from Police Station Majalta laid a surprise naka near Battal Morh and intercepted two bovine smugglers namely Mohmed Nazeer and Mohmed Gani of Bali Nallah Udhampur, who were illegally taking two animals to Kashmir on foot.
Police arrested the smugglers and rescued the animals besides a case in this regard was also registered at Police Station Majalta.
