JAMMU, Apr 27: Six candidates from Jammu province among seven in the State have cracked the country’s most prestigious Civil Services Examination 2017, result of which was declared today by the Union Public Service Commission.
Mohd Farooq from Reasi, Amir Bashir from Mendhar, Atal Choudhary from Samba, Abhishek Sharma from Kishtwar, Shashank Bhardwaj and Utkarsh Duggal are among the candidates from Jammu province, who have been declared selected for appointment in various groups of services as per the rank secured by each of them.
Faz Lul Haseeb from Kashmir has also been declared selected for the appointment.
Utkarsh Duggal, who has secured 17 ranks in the list of 990, is presently serving as Additional Superintendent of Police in Ganderbal district of Kashmir.
Abhishek Sharma, son of Suresh Sharma of Sarkoot in Kishtwar has secured 69 ranks in the list of successful candidates.
Mohd Farooq, son of Noor Hussain, who has secured 939 rank, hails from remote village Lassoli of Thuroo tehsil in Sub-Davison Dharmari of Reasi district.
Besides Mohd Farooq, Atal Choudhary of Samba and Amir Bashir of Mendhar, all three from Gujjar tribe, have also been declared selected.
Faz Lul Haseeb, son of Farooq Ahmad Peer of Kashmir has also been declared selected in the Civil Services Examination. He has done B Tech from MIET Jammu. He is product of Burn Hall School in Kashmir and his father has been basically a college teacher, presently Director Academics at J&K Board of School Education.
Based on the result of the written part of Civil Services Examination 2017, held by UPSC in October-November 2017 and the interviews for Personality Test, held in February-April, 2018, a total number of 990 candidates have been declared selected for IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services, Group A and Group B.
