No COVID case in 6 distts of Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 28: Six persons died of COVID-19 while 156 tested positive for virus and 275 others were discharged in Jammu and Kashmir today.
Five casualties were reported in Kashmir division and one in Jammu.
Those who died of Corona in Kashmir today include a 46-year-old man from Budgam, a 70-year-old man from Kupwara, a 65-year-old man from Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Baramulla and an 80-year-old man from Shopian.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in J&K has reached 1875-1183 in the Valley.
Srinagar district with 447 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 171, Budgam 108, Kupwara 91, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 83, Bandipora 60, Kulgam 53 and Ganderbal 43.
In Kashmir, 90 people tested positive today taking the number of positive cases in J&K to 120,293.
This is for the first time since June this year that cases have fallen below 100. On June 3, the number of cases first time crossed 109 in Kashmir valley and came below 100 first time since then.
Those who tested positive include 34 from Srinagar, 8 Baramulla, 12 Budgam, 14 Kupwara, 8 Pulwama, 4 Anantnag, 4 Bandipora, 4 Ganderbal and one each from Kulgam and Shopian.
In Jammu, a 78- year old man from R S Pura died of COVID-19 and multiple ailments in the GMC Jammu.
Only 66 persons, 56 of them in Jammu district alone, tested positive in Jammu region while six districts including Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi didn’t report even a single COVID case today. This was after a long time that cases below 100 were reported in the region.
On the other, 155 persons recovered in Jammu region, 85 of them in Jammu district.
Jammu region now has 49624 Corona cases including 1577 active as 47355 have recovered and there have been 692 casualities.
Meanwhile, five new cases were reported today in the Union Territory of Ladakh, all in Leh district.
The new cases have taken Corona tally in Ladakh to 9411 including 198 active positives and 9087 recoveries.
There have been 126 COVID casualties in Ladakh-83 in Leh and 43 in Kargil.
