POONCH, May 2: The District Police Poonch has detained six youth for their involvement in drug-peddling/ abuse and sent them to judicial custody.
A police official said that on the request of the citizens of Poonch city in a meeting held recently, special police teams were constituted to deal with the drug-menace in the city. The team nabbed six youth who were involved in drug-peddling / drug abuse. They were sent to judicial custody and lodged in Jail.
It is pertinent to mention here that three youth were allegedly died due to over dose of the drugs in Poonch during last one week. About half a dozen boys have been died in last three months. With the increasing deaths of youth due to drugs, the people have been shocked. They requested the SSP Poonch, to take special initiative to deal with this serious issue and save young generation.
