6 drug peddlers arrested with contraband

JAMMU, Jan 28: Jhajjar Kotli, Chanderkote and Kanachack Police arrested six drug peddlers along with contraband.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria laid a naka and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers PB11CR-1065 and PB23J-9408.
During checking, police team recovered 57.260 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicles and arrested three persons.
The arrested persons were identified as Baljinder Singh, son of Satnam Singh, Azad Singh, son of Mohinder Singh and Kulvinder Singh, son of Dalvinder Singh, trio residents of Ludhiana Punjab.
Cases under FIR Numbers 12/2021 and 13/2021 have been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Chanderkote during checking intercepted a person, who was heading towards Chanderkote from Ramban on foot.
During frisking, police team recovered 800 grams cannabis from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Shaqoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Shampa tehsil Batote District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 4/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation initiated.
The arrest was made under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Rajinder Chib, Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Kanachack laid a naka at Jhiri and apprehended two persons along with 4 grams heroin.
The arrested persons were identified as Sohan Lal alias Baillo, son of Rattan Lal of Shama Chak and Sandeep Singh alias Chhotu, son of Rattan Singh of Dub Karam Din.
A case under FIR Number 17/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Kanachack Inspector Vishav Partap Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
