JAMMU, Dec 9: Satwari police arrested six gamblers and recovered Rs 5300 stake money and playing cards, a police official said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Raju, son of Munshi Ram, a resident of Khanpur Nagrota, at present MH Satwari, Ramesh Chander, son of Krishan Lal of Bye Pass Bishnah, Hamid, son of Shaki of Narwal Pain Satwari, Ravi Kumar, son of Kamal Dass of Narwal Pain Satwari and Bitta Singh, son of Makhan Singh of Raipur Satwari.
All the arrested gamblers have been booked under section 13 Gambling Act by Satwari Police.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh and assisted by SI Rahul Mahajan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
