RAJOURI, Jan 18: Six passengers were injured when a Tempo Traveler went out of control and fell into a gorge in Kalakot area of district Rajouri this evening.
Official sources said that a Tempo Traveler, bearing registration number JK02AX/ 4395 met with an accident at around 6 pm on Thursday evening in Jatta Maliya area under Kalakot police jurisdiction. The mishap took place when the driver lost control over the vehicle at a sharp curve. The vehicle was closer to its destination- Jatta Maliyan, when the accident occurred.
The injured told police that Tempo was over speeding and the driver could not negotiate the curve in the same speed. It went out of control and fell into a small gorge. Six passengers were injured in the accident, who were shifted to Community Health Centre, Kalakot for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Kesh Ram ; Ekta Sharma (16), daughter of Bishamber Ram; Rakshi Sharma, son of Som Raj ; Kaka Ram, son of Munshi Ram; Nitish Sharma, son of Ashok Sharma and Shiyal Sharma, son of Jatinder Paul, all residents of Jatta Malia. Their condition was said to be stable stable. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
