6 injured as truck collides with Xylo

POONCH, July 23: Six persons were injured,  when a truck collided with a Mahindra  Xylo vehicle near here this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 3.30 pm when truck, bearing registration No. JK02P/ 7435   was on its way to Poonch from Rajouri. The Xylo passenger vehicle No. JK-12/ 6077 was moving from Poonch to Jammu.
As the vehicle reached near Khanetar, on Jammu-Poonch highway, it collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction. Six passengers  including Xylo driver were injured in the accident. SHO Poonch, Insp Jitender Raina rushed to the spot along with some police men.
The police shifted all the injured persons to District Hospital, Poonch. The truck driver, however, managed to escape from the spot. His vehicle was seized by police.
The injured undergoing treatment in Poonch hospital were identified as Kajal, daughter of Ram Paul, resident of Miran Sahib Jammu; Mohd Sajid, son of Mir Baz, resident of Arai, Mandi; Tasveer Begum, wife of Ghulam Rasool, resident of  Ward No. 6,  Poonch; Divya, daughter of Rajinder Kumar, resident of  Ward No. 8 Poonch; Nizam Din, son of  Bahadur Ali, resident of  Ward No. 6,  Poonch and  Xylo driver,  Govind Sharma, son of Laxmi  Chand, resident of Banpath, Poonch. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. Two injured were later referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
