JAMMU, Apr 4: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) booked six mutton sellers for overcharging.
According to a handout issued by the Department, a special squad comprising of Deputy Controller Legal Metrology SS Lab, Jammu, Inspector Legal Metrology, Jammu Upper and Lower headed by Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Jammu conducted inspection of the mutton sellers on the complaint of people.
During inspections, it was observed that the meat sellers are charging Rs 340-Rs 360 against the approved rates of Rs 280.
The team booked six mutton sellers namely M/s Pakiza Halal Meat Shop, M/s Bismillah Halal Meat Shop, Janipur Road, M/s Pakeeza Halal Meat Shop, M/s Mashi Meat Shop, M/s Dilbar Halal Meat Shop, Poonch House, Talab Tillo, M/s Farooq Meat Shop, Panama Chowk.
The team asked them to get their cases compounded on April 7 failing which cases will be referred to the Court of Law.
