6 notorious criminals arrested with heroin, arms

JAMMU, June 20: Six notorious criminals, who were evading arrests in many FIRs and one among them having Public Safety Act (PSA) warrant pending for execution, arrested by RS Pura Police.
As per police sources, on reliable information about some criminal planning to attack their rivals, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan was constituted.
The team after hectic efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally got a lead and nabbed two persons namely Sandeep Kumar alias Shotu, son of Tarsem Lal of RS Pura and Aijaz Ahmed, son of Javed Ahmed of Bantalab. During search, 30 grams heroin was recovered from them.
A case under FIR Number 124/2021 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation was set into motion.
During sustained questioning, the arrested accused confessed their involvement in the above case and they revealed names of other persons also. On this, police arrested the other four accused namely Sunil Kumar alias Gokul, son of Tarsem Lal, Anil Kumar alias Nandi, son of Balwant Raj, Balbinder Kumar alias Sooraj alias Giri, son of Jeet Raj and Davinder Kumar alias Rahul, son of Darshan Lal, all residents of RS Pura. During search one pistol, 2 live rounds and 4 sharp edged weapons were recovered.
Subsequently, a case under FIR Number 125/21under Sections 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act was also registered at Police Station RS Pura.
It is pertinent to mention that both Sandeep and Aijaz were also arrested earlier in narcotics trade by different police stations of District Jammu. Gokul was already involved in 8 different FIRs and his PSA dossier warrant was also issued by DM Jammu for his criminal activities and disturbing the public order and he was also evading arrest. Sooraj and Nandi were also evading arrest in 2 FIRs registered with Police Station RS Pura.
Further investigation into the cases is going on.
