POONCH, Oct 13: The Forest Department team today dismantled six illegal structures and retrieved over 100 kanals of land in Nar area of Mendhar in Poonch Forest Division.
Official sources told the Excelsior that the team led by Range Officer (RO) Mohd Arif Mirza, along with staff under the supervision of DFO Poonch, Mohan Choudhary dismantled six structures in Forest area (Compt No. 156/M) at village Bhatadhurian under Nar belt of Mendhar Forest Range.
RO Mendhar during operation also retrieved over 100 kanals of Forest land. The land grabbers have been booked under Forest Act. They had also caused damage to some trees in the area. The operation was carried out smoothly despite initial reaction from the land grabbers, the official said.
